If you couldn’t tell from that hastily thrown together photoshop, I’m going to be speaking on a pretty cool panel on Wednesday night at the LA Improv for Digital LA, (tickets and information here). It should be fun.
It’s a big ‘ole meeting of online comedy folk. I’ll be representing Cracked, Spencer Griffin will be pimping out CollegeHumor, and Scott Gairdner, who makes my favorite non-Cracked videos on the internet, including this one but especially this one, will be there as a representative of FunnyOrDie. Lucia Aniello, whom I’ve never met but instantly love because she made the amazing Dollar Shave Club video, will also be there, along with comedian Matt Walker.
We’ll be talking about comedy, the internet, and comedy on the internet. We’ll give out advice for new writers and discuss the importance of social media which, regrettably, sounds like it means I’ll have to say things like “tweet” and “viral” and “social networking” more times than is comfortable for me.
If you’re in or can get to LA this Wednesday, you should check it out. You don’t need a badge, (though it is $18.00 to get in, which is a drag), but I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.
Sure would be a shame if a bunch of people crashed this and started yelling things like “we want Brockway” and “boo for not Brockway.” Sure would be a shame…
I don’t know why Brockway is pushing for this. I know for a fact sitting on a panel in front of people would make him miserable. Maybe that’s all the more reason to do it.
